Lottie Woad Leads Augusta National Women's Amateur Heading into Augusta National

Augusta National, Official Home of The 2024 Masters

The Masters is one of the four major championships in men's professional golf and is truly unique in the sense that it is the only one to be played on the same course every year. The course, Augusta National Golf Club, is a par-72, 7,435-yard layout that was designed by Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts and opened in 1933. The Masters has been played at Augusta National since 1934, and the tournament has been won by some of the greatest names in golf history, including Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, and Arnold Palmer.

Augusta National Women's Amateur

The Augusta National Women's Amateur is a new tournament that was first played in 2019. The tournament is open to amateur golfers from around the world, and it is played on the same course as the Masters. The 2023 Augusta National Women's Amateur will be played from March 29th to April 2nd, and the winner will receive an invitation to play in the 2024 Masters.

Lottie Woad Leads Heading into Augusta National

Lottie Woad, a 24-year-old English golfer, is the current leader of the Augusta National Women's Amateur. Woad shot a 6-under 66 in the first round of the tournament, and she followed that up with a 1-under 71 in the second round. Woad has a one-stroke lead over Anna Davis of the United States heading into the final round of the tournament.

Woad is a rising star in the world of women's golf. She won the 2022 British Women's Amateur Championship, and she was a member of the Great Britain and Ireland team that won the 2022 Curtis Cup. Woad is also a member of the Ladies European Tour, and she has won one event on the tour.

If Woad can win the Augusta National Women's Amateur, she would become the first English golfer to win the tournament. She would also receive an invitation to play in the 2024 Masters, which would be a dream come true for any golfer.
